Siltac EC forms a polymeric grid structure

The silicone grid structure, which is formed on the pests’ bodies as a result of Siltac EC application, has sticky property.

Therefore the killed insects are ‘glued’ to the plant for some time. It may seem that the application was ineffective. The insects are still present on the plant.

It can be seen very well in the presented pictures showing the Rose Aphid (Macrosiphum rosae) treated and not-treated with Siltac EC.

It is easy to see that the aphids which were treated with the preparation are dead.

Usually after a few days they fall out of the plant or are washed off by rain.
